It's that time of year, food plot season. Joining me on this episode is Albert Tomechko, founder and president of Vitalize Seed Company. Albert has spent the last 6 years food plotting and creating his own seed blends. This year he's partnered with Jared Van Hess (Host of the Habitat Podcast) to bring those blends to market. We discuss the development of the blends and the plants within each mix. Vitalize seed is a one two punch. Nitro boost planted in the spring prepares the ground and boosts nutrients for the fall mix that in turn does the same for the spring mix. This system takes advantage of nutrient cycling for better performance of the food plots and promote better soils. Get out your note pad and be ready to take notes of all of the great information that Albert has to share.

It is 4th of July weekend! Time to reflect on the founding of our country and the cost for our freedoms and the opportunities we have for hunting, fishing, and enjoying the outdoors. It has been a busy several weeks. Total archery back in June, which I would encourage everyone if ever given the opportunity to attend make make sure you do so. It is that time of year for habitat projects and food plots. Get your seed, your fertilizer and get ready to plant. I cover that I will be going with a new seed company for this year. Introducing Vitalize Seed Company, this company has developed what I would say is the best blend for soil health and wildlife forage. You can never to to soon when if come to getting ready for archery season. I discuss the changes I have made to my archery set up to get me an edge this season. Lastly it is the time of year that limited season draw are are announced and It looks like will be heading to South Dakota again this year. This Episode is all about getting outdoors. Joined by my wife Kim, we talk about the actives that we have been taking part of in the great outdoors. Turkey season has come to a close and fishing seasons are opened up. If foraging is your thing than there is no better time to explore the wilderness for unique and delicious plants to bring home. Closing out the discussion I cover the progress made prepping food plots and the struggles with weed control.

On this week episode we go back into talking arrow setup. I cover the process that I have learned from others that aid me in becoming a better archer. By tuning you arrow to you bow, you give you bow the mechanical advantage that will aid in improving accuracy as well as the efficiency of you bow. The process I use consist of three main steps. They are bare shaft tuning, nock tuning, and vane configuration. I lay out in detail each of these steps that you can follow to try for yourself.

This episode I discuss my thought process when it come to picking a hunting arrow. Yes it can be as easy as heading down to the archery show grabbing some arrows off the shelf screw in your broadhead and go hunting. However if you want to get more out of you arrow then what is covered in this episode will give you some things to consider. If you are new to archery, you will get the basics if the terminology used and the components that go along with arrows. This episode closes with examples of the arrow setups I have tested and used. Lets just say, there are plenty of options to choose.
